2024 St. Jude Championship purse, prize money: Payouts from $20M pool for first FedEx Cup Playoff event
The regular season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the end of the PGA Tour’s big-money payouts for this year. Transitioning to the postseason, the PGA Tour rewarded those who qualify for the 2024 St. Jude Championship — and the following two weeks of the FedEx Cup Playoffs — with a pretty lucrative $20 million prize pool in Memphis.
That amount is in line with the eight signature events of the regular season. The winner’s share, which goes to 2024 champion Hideki Matsuyama, is $3.6 million — the same as the five signature events such as the Genesis Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational and Memorial each shell out a little over $4 million for their champions.
Scottie Scheffler has been victorious in big-money tournaments most of the season; he has four signature-event victories in 2024. Scheffler has collected $15.2 million in winner’s checks alone and has amassed more than $28 million so far this season. That puts him fifth on the PGA Tour’s career money leaders, with more than $70 million to his name.

Matsuyama isn’t the only player who left with a smile on his face in Memphis, however, as all of the top 11 players won at least $500,000. Players in the top 36 will see six figures in their bank accounts, while all players in the field will receive a salary, with the last-place finisher getting $40,000.
