2024 Tour Championship odds, predictions, prop bets: Scottie Scheffler picks from proven model

The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs will conclude this week with the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings will compete this week for their share of the $100 million bonus pool, with the winner getting $25 million. Scottie Scheffler’s six-win season has given him a two-shot lead over Xander Schauffele at the start of the tournament. Scheffler will begin the tournament at 10-under and is a -115 favorite in the 2024 Tour Championship odds (bet $115 to win $100). Meanwhile, Justin Thomas (400-1) was the last player to qualify and will begin the tournament tied for second.

The first round of the 2024 Tour Championship begins Thursday, and there is no 36-hole cut. Since moving from a points formula to a staggered start stroke-play event in 2019, three of the last five FedEx Cup champions have come from behind to win the Tour Championship. Before locking in 2024 Tour Championship picks, Scottie Scheffler props or golf picks on sites like FanDuel, DraftKings, Underdog Fantasy, PrizePicks, or Pick6, be sure to check out golf predictions and projected leaderboards from proven computer models at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, created by DFS Pro Mike McClure, has become very popular since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, this model is up over $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, leading tournament after tournament.

The same model has also driven the 13 major tournaments entering the weekend, including the 2024 Masters – the third Masters in a row – and this year’s PGA Championship and US Open. Anyone who has followed it has reaped huge benefits.

Now that the Tour Championship 2024 has been confirmed, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times and the results were astonishing. Visit SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2024 Tour Championship predictions

A surprise: Collin Morikawa (28-1) is a strong contender for the title. The 27-year-old Morikawa is a six-time PGA Tour winner and two-time major champion and is currently ranked sixth in the Official World Golf Ranking. He will start the tournament tied for sixth at four under par, behind Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark and Sam Burns.

After a difficult 2023 season where he fell out of the top 20 in the world rankings, Morikawa won the Zozo Championship during the PGA Tour fall season and then added six more top-five finishes in 2024, including a T-3 at the Masters. Morikawa has a better chance of winning than his long odds would suggest, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a big payday.

The model also examines where Scheffler (-115) finishes. After battling the Korn Ferry Tour to earn his card in 2019, Scheffler picked up his first win on the PGA Tour at the WM Phoenix Open in February 2022. However, it’s been a whirlwind since then, with Scheffler winning 11 more times over the next 30 months (including two green jackets.)

In 2024, Scheffler has won six times on the PGA Tour and was also an Olympic gold medalist in Paris. However, he is 0-14 in his career in FedEx Cup playoff events and in the past two seasons he has failed to win the Tour Championship despite starting the tournament with the lead. How to get selected for the 2024 Tour Championship

The model is also targeting four other golfers with odds of 28-1 or better to make them strong contenders to win the title. Anyone who backs these longshots can win the big one. You can see just the model’s picks here.
