2024 WWE Bash in Berlin predictions, card, start time, matches, PPV preview, date, location

This Saturday, WWE will host a premium live event in Germany for the first time in the promotion’s history. The Bash in Berlin will take place from the Uber Arena and stream live on Peacock.

Gunther cut his teeth in the German independent season in the years prior to his tenure in WWE. Gunther returns to Berlin – which is a seven-hour drive from his birthplace in Vienna, Austria – to defend his newly acquired World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther will take on King of the Ring finalist Randy Orton, who is trying to win his 15th world title.

The other major title match will see WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes defend his crown against his teammate and good friend Kevin Owens. Rhodes opted to give Owens a chance after SummerSlam, despite Owens saying he didn’t deserve it. Now, the two are at each other’s throats as the rivalry heats up ahead of the bout.

Plus, the rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will reach a new level when the pair clash in a Strap Match. Finally, former Judgement Day leaders Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley will take on Judgement Day’s Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan in mixed tag team action.

WWE Bash in Berlin 2024 predictions

World Heavyweight Championship – Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton: Orton is an ideal first challenger to Gunther’s title. Orton is the best guy on the WWE roster and losing here won’t hurt him. Gunther has also built up credibility with a second win over Orton, defeating him controversially at King and Queen of the Ring. There’s no real suspense in the result here, especially in Germany, but the journey to get there should be a good one as Orton has built up a good role as the dangerous veteran. Undisputed WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens: Just like Gunther, WWE is not going to strip Rhodes of the title in a quick feud after building him up for two years to become the company’s top star. Rhodes vs. Owens should be a great match that reminds people how good Owens is. It would also add another strong title defense to Rhodes’ reign. There’s no doubt that Rhodes will retain the title. The more interesting question is how well the superstars’ friendship holds up by the end of the night. Pick: Cody Rhodes retains the title — Mahjouri (also Brookhouse)

CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre (Strap Match): McIntyre got the win at SummerSlam, which means Punk has to get the win back and even things up. The focus on Punk’s friendship bracelet in the SummerSlam match received mixed reactions. A strap match should have the violence that the match didn’t have. This isn’t going to end things between Punk and McIntyre, but if we follow standard wrestling logic, Punk gets the win which increases the chances of a third meeting between the two, possibly at Survivor Series. Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley vs. Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan: If there’s one match on the card that’s the hardest to predict, it’s this one. If you want to see Priest and Ripley continue to act out their frustration and interfere throughout the rest of Judgment Day, then a win by the heels makes sense. Still, it seems like Priest and Ripley would benefit from a win here and it would move Ripley closer to getting another title shot at Morgan. If that’s the end goal, then Priest and Ripley should get the win. Pick: Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley win –Brookhouse

Ripley and Priest are the competitive favorites, so to speak. They are a much more impressive pair than the sly savvy Morgan and Mysterio. I suspect the Judgement Day pairing will be too much for the heroes. It’s the most straightforward way to continue the feud. If WWE chooses to give the German crowd an easy fight, LWO could even out the numbers game by helping Priest and Ripley get the win. Pick: Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan win — Mahjuri

Women’s Tag Team Championship – Alba Fair and Isla Dawn (c) vs. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill: Honestly, I have no idea how this match will turn out. It’s not because WWE has created any complex storylines or presented the teams competitively equally, but because creative just doesn’t seem to care. The Unholy Union’s title win at Clash at the Castle felt like an opportunity to reward the Scottish audience. Belair and Cargill are much more appealing, but seem invisible without the title. I hope WWE goes the right way with the new champions. Pick: Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill win the titles — Mahjouri (also Brookhouse)
