49ers coach: Christian McCaffrey was ‘probably’ thinking about football during Olivia Culpo’s wedding
Christian McCaffrey can’t, won’t, stop thinking about football.
The San Francisco 49ers player’s coach, Kyle Shanahan, joked to reporters on Wednesday that McCaffrey, 28, “probably” had sports on his mind when he married Olivia Culpo in June.
“When she’s walking down the aisle to get married, she’s probably thinking about her feet and thinking about how to walk,” the 44-year-old actress said.
Shanahan, who meant “no offense to Olivia,” clarified that the groom is a “lover” of football.
He called the running backs “very intentional” with “every rep, every walk-through” [and] Whatever he does, he does it.
McCaffrey married Culpo, 32, during the NFL offseason.
The couple has been together since 2019, four years after McCaffrey got down on one knee.
“We tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible, but apparently word gets around fast,” the reality star wrote via Instagram Stories in April 2023. “I’m marrying my best friend. I love you so much fiancé.”
When the two married in Rhode Island, the bride’s Dolce & Gabbana dress stirred controversy.
The backlash began when she told Vogue that she didn’t want to “portray sex in any way, shape, or form.”
McCaffrey came to his wife’s defense after a detractor claimed the gown lacked “personality.”
“What a horrible thing to post online. I hope you can find happiness and peace in the world just like my beautiful wife does,” he wrote.
For her part, Culpo called social media trolls “weird human beings” in light of their “extremely hurtful” comments.
The former beauty pageant queen also hit back at a TikTok user who accused her of giving off “pick me vibes” by talking openly about not using mascara, eyebrow pencil or lip liner.
“It was an interview,” Culpo commented on July’s criticism. “He asked me how my makeup was.”
