‘90210’ co-stars Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green reveal why they stopped talking for 18 years: ‘Like going through a divorce’

Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green reveal why they stopped talking for 18 years.

The pair — who played a couple of on-screen lovers on “Beverly Hills, 90210” and dated during filming — sat down to discuss their estrangement during Monday’s episode of the “Oldish Podcast.”

“I remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other before those 18 years. I was crying,” recalled Spelling, 51. “I remember I was crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close.”

She added that the end of the hit TV series in 2000 was “like going through a divorce” because she was “losing the person I live with every day.”

Spelling revealed that despite their history, Green, 51, had “assured” her they would stay in touch, but then quickly pointed out that he didn’t follow through on his promise.

“I remember going to Vincent’s [Young]”We used to come ‘home’ to visit you several days after work and try to keep in touch. But it got to the point where I never got that from you,” Green said.

“And then I remember I was at the ‘90210’ DVD release party and you were marrying Dean [McDermott] And I was with Megan. [Fox] When we were still dating — you guys came over and you didn’t even say hi to me once,” he said of the party in 2006. “I just kept missing you guys and then you left.”

At the time, Spelling was married to McDermott, from whom she filed for divorce in March 2024. Green, meanwhile, began dating Fox in 2004 before marrying in 2010 and splitting in 2021.

The father of five told Spelling that he believed she no longer wanted to be his friend.

“That’s really how I felt,” Green said. “I thought I had kept my word. I tried to meet with him and call you. When that doesn’t happen at some point … you give up.”

Spelling agreed with Green, saying, “Your experience is absolutely correct.”

The “Scary Movie” actress also revealed that another reason for their feud was the people they dated after their relationship.

Spelling began dating Young, who was one of her boyfriends on the iconic ’90s show, and Green moved on with his co-star Vanessa Marcil.

“It was a complicated relationship,” she said, recalling dating Young. “For my part, I lost myself in that relationship again, as I have in relationships before. That relationship was not a good relationship for me and I ended up getting caught up in it and things didn’t work out well.”

Spelling said she also “stayed away” from Green because he “wasn’t a fan of hers.” [her] relationship.”

“My process was different and I ran away from people who really fought for me. I never stopped thinking about you and never stopped wanting to reach out and reconnect with you,” she continued.

During the conversation, she also indicated that she is not a fan of her relationship with Marcil, calling it “frustrating to watch.” During their relationship, Marcil and Green welcomed son Cassius in 2002.

As for Green, he said he never lost touch with her because she was like a “sister” to him. He then confirmed that they are now friends and talk on the phone regularly.

Following his divorce from Fox, Green moved on with Sharna Burgess and announced their engagement in September 2023.
