Adam Sandler confirms ‘stud’ Travis Kelsey will make a cameo in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Travis Kelce is ready for his close-up.

Adam Sandler has confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will make a cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

“We have something good for Travis. He’s coming,” the comedian said Tuesday on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” about Kelce’s role in the Netflix movie, which held a casting call in New Jersey earlier that day and will begin filming in the coming weeks.

Sandler, 57, told the studio audience that the 34-year-old NFL star is “so nice,” adding, “What a big, handsome man — and so funny and cool. He’s a stud.”

Kelce, an avid golfer who has been making moves in Hollywood since he began dating Taylor Swift last year, previously publicly offered to star in “Happy Gilmore 2.”

“I’m up for ‘Happy Gilmore,’ an Adam Sandler movie or anything around the set. Count me in!” he said on his “New Heights” podcast earlier this year.

“I would do anything to be in the movie,” reiterated the football player, who will make his acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s TV series “Grotesquerie” next month. “I would be a part of it in any way I could.”

Netflix announced in May that a sequel to Sandler’s 1996 sports comedy was in the works, with the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member reprising his role as the title character.

Sandler revealed on “The Tonight Show” on Tuesday that he and his longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy “have been working hard on the script” for the upcoming film.

“We didn’t want to disappoint anyone. People had been asking me for a long time,” he said, adding that the two were “very excited” about the fruits of their labor.

Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in the original film, recently told Page Six exclusively that the new script is “really fun,” but he didn’t say anything about his involvement.

When asked about the sequel he said, “I have an NDA. Nice try.”
