Adele cries as she announces ‘incredibly long’ break from music after engagement to Rich Paul

Adele’s next album might be titled “45.”

The “Someone Like You” singer announced on Saturday that she would be taking an “incredibly long” break from music after getting engaged to Rich Paul.

“I’m not the most spontaneous performer, I know that, but I’m very good at this, and I’ve really enjoyed performing for almost three years, which is the longest I’ve ever performed and possibly the longest I’ve ever performed,” she told the audience during the 10th and final show of her Munich residency.

Noting that there are still 10 dates of her Las Vegas residency to be completed in the coming weeks, Adele told her fans, “After that, I won’t be seeing you for a very long time, and I will treasure you in my heart throughout the duration of my vacation.”

The 36-year-old Grammy winner got emotional as she admitted she needed to “rest” and take some personal time.

“I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” she said, fighting back tears. “I want to live my new life that I’m building.”

The news comes less than a month after Adele confirmed long-running rumours that she and Paul, 43, were engaged.

“I can’t marry you because I’m already married,” the superstar told a Munich concertgoer in early August after spotting him holding a marriage proposal sign. She then flashed her engagement ring.

Adele and the 43-year-old sports agent have been a couple since the summer of 2021.

The “Hello” singer was previously married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki from May 2018 to March 2021.

The former couple has an 11-year-old son named Angelo.

Adele last released an album, “30,” in November 2021. She began her “Weekends With Adele” shows in Vegas the following year.
