Ben Affleck attends family dinner with best friend Matt Damon amid Jennifer Lopez divorce

resuming his role as the “third wheel”.

Following his split from Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck was spotted having dinner with his best friend Matt Damon and his family in Los Angeles.

According to photos obtained by TMZ, Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso looked happy as they arrived at the Italian hot spot Toscana with their daughters on Sunday night.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2005, were spotted greeting everyone in the restaurant’s foyer with big smiles.

Damon, 53, and Barroso, 48, dressed in all black for the fun night.

Affleck arrived alone, but appeared to be in good spirits as he joined family inside.

The “Gone Girl” star wore jeans, a white T-shirt and a brown button-down, which she paired with simple white sneakers.

Despite his marital troubles, the meal was the perfect boost for Affleck, after which he was heard laughing with the butler.

Damon and Barroso appeared to be having just as much fun as they left the eatery with big smiles.

A source previously told “Entertainment Tonight” that Affleck was “leaning on” his “Good Will Hunting” co-star during his separation from Lopez, who officially filed for divorce last week.

“Matt is always by Ben’s side and supports him,” an insider told PEOPLE in June.

Though Damon has been a pillar of support for Affleck, the “Jason Bourne” star recently admitted he can’t imagine switching shoes with him.

During an episode of the “Radio Times Podcast” with Casey Affleck, Damon admitted that he couldn’t imagine being under a microscope like Ben.

“I’ve been really lucky in this case … especially when I look at Casey’s brother, Ben,” he said. “I can’t imagine living under that kind of scrutiny.”

“And it’s been like that for 25 years and we’ve had parallel careers in many ways and so I’m lucky that I’m exempt from that part [fame]” Damon explained.

The ‘Martian’ star felt like the media ‘overlooked’ him because he was ‘married’ and ‘boring,’ while Affleck was single and giving people things to talk about.

Though Affleck eventually garnered more media attention, he never sought it.

In fact, a source recently told Page Six that Lopez’s public lifestyle was a major point of contention in the couple’s marriage — which lasted until their August 2022 honeymoon.

“He was unhappy about the paparazzi following him,” an insider told the outlet earlier this month. “He’s an international superstar, and he acted as if it was a surprise to him that he was being followed.”

All the extra eyes nearly ruined the trip and they “barely” spoke to each other during “the happiest time of their lives.”

Though the couple swiftly broke up after reconnecting in 2021, we’re told Affleck began to resent Lopez’s level of celebrity after they said “I do.”

“He doesn’t want to [the entourage] and all the drama that goes on in her house,” the source added.

Though the two former lovers were expected to reunite at the upcoming premiere of their new movie, “Unstoppable,” Page Six recently revealed that Affleck would not be attending the event.

However, Damon, who produced the film alongside Affleck, will be there to represent the couple alongside Lopez.
