Brittany Cartwright files for divorce from Jax Taylor to end their ‘turbulent cycle’: report
According to a new report, Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor because she wanted to “end the tumultuous cycle they’ve been living in.”
“A lot has happened over the last few months that she can’t ignore,” an insider told People. “This decision wasn’t made lightly, but she is adamant that it was the right one.”
Cartwright, 35, took the step to officially end her marriage in the “best interest” of herself and her 3-year-old son, Cruz.
The insider said that it had been “a long time coming,” and also revealed that Taylor was feeling “mixed emotions” about her decision.
The stars of “Valley” remained married for five years.
In the papers obtained by Page Six, Cartwright cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation and listed the separation date as January 24, 2024, which is the day before her birthday.
She asked the judge to waive spousal support for herself and Taylor (whose real name is Jason Cauchi) and requested legal and physical custody of their child, as well as grant her estranged husband visitation rights.
Cartwright, who was spotted taking a delivery of alcohol just hours after filing for divorce, first announced their split in February and later revealed she left Taylor because he drank too much and became “evil like a horrible snake.”
Taylor, who has been open about his mental health and anger issues, was admitted to a facility for treatment last month.
“Jax has always been open about his mental health struggles, especially on his podcast over the last few months. He has decided to seek treatment in a hospital,” his rep previously told Page Six.
“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. He asks for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more about this matter.”
The “Vanderpump Rules” star said she is determined to “be better” for Cruz.
