Cash-strapped Armie Hammer is moving into an apartment while his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers is “packing and moving” again with their kids.
Ex-spouses Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers are moving on.
The former couple revealed in separate Instagram posts on Tuesday that they are both moving into new homes, one year after their divorce was finalized.
Hammer, 38, told his followers in a video that he got a new apartment in Los Angeles.
The disgraced actor also revealed that he had to sell his truck because he can’t afford the fuel prices in California.
“Since getting back to L.A., I’ve put about four or five hundred dollars worth of fuel into it, and I can’t afford it. I can’t afford the gas anymore,” said Hammer, whose career plunged in 2021 following allegations of rape, physical abuse and cannibalistic fantasies.
Chambers, 42, posted a video of the inside of her home and shared it on her Instagram Story, revealing that she is in the process of relocating with her and Hammer’s two children, daughter Harper, 9, and son Ford, 7.
“For the 5th time in almost 5 years my kids and I are packing up and moving,” the TV personality wrote.
She also wrote, “I am so grateful for my Lai, my incredible boyfriend, and these extraordinary people (jojordan10 is not pictured as she is taking care of business at @birdbakery).”
Chambers did not name her boyfriend, Ricardas Kazinek, in her post. The couple met in the Cayman Islands, where Chambers has been living since the start of the pandemic. Hammer also lived in the Cayman Islands when his scandal broke.
Hammer and Chambers split in 2020. The following year, Hammer was accused of rape by multiple women. He was also accused of emotional abuse, cannibalistic fetishes, and engaging in BDSM sex and role-play.
The backlash caused the “Call Me By Your Name” actor to step away from the spotlight, as his agent, publicist and other members of his team dropped him.
At the time, Chambers publicly showed his support for Hammer.
“I support Armie on his journey and always will,” she said in a February 2021 Instagram post. “All I ever wanted was for him to be sober, healthy, and happy. And that’s who he is. He’s really present when he’s with the kids, and that’s all I can hope for. You just want your kids to have two strong parents, right? That’s always the goal, so anything I can do to support him, I’ll do.”
Chambers later addressed her ex’s scandal in an interview with Elle in 2023, revealing that she found out about the allegations against him in real time, just like everyone else.
“I thought, ‘There are no words. What the fuck?'” she said.
Last year, the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Hammer would not be charged with sexual assault.
The “Death on the Nile” star opened up about the scandal when he appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, and confirmed that he cheated on Chambers with multiple partners during their marriage.
“It was a dark time. It was a dark, painful time,” Hammer said. “It’s also something I have to admit is on me. I had an affair with my wife. Obviously, I’m not the first person in Hollywood history to do that, but I did it, and that’s not behavior that I have to accept.”
Hammer also revealed that he was required to undergo a psycho-legal evaluation during the former couple’s custody battle.
Earlier this year, Chambers appeared on the reality show “Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise” and said her children have “no idea” about what happened to their father.
“My kids are obviously happy. They must think their dad is a superhero,” he said. “And to be honest, he’s been a superhero to them. He’s been as good as he can be.”
Chambers also said she doesn’t “say negative things” about Hammer in the press because she doesn’t want her children to have “daddy issues.”
