Channing Tatum accuses his ex-wife Jenna Dewan of using ‘delaying tactics’ in divorce proceedings
Channing Tatum accused his ex-wife Jenna Dewan of employing “delaying tactics” in their divorce proceedings.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, the 44-year-old “Magic Mike” star claims the “World of Dance” alumnus’ motion to fire his legal team at Glaser Weil and Blank Rome “is a delaying tactic to prolong our divorce case.”
Tatum’s attorneys say they have “made extensive efforts to settle all issues in this case without litigation” and “made countless settlement offers, participated in multiple mediations, their attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of proposed judgment, and they have tried to resolve the issues directly.”
However, Dewan believes her ex-husband’s representatives should be disqualified from the lawsuit due to a conflict of interest. She claims they were involved in selling parts of his business entities.
In a filing Wednesday, the “Step Up” actress, 43, denied Tatum’s claims and accused him of trying to “stop the lawsuit proceedings by preventing the release of relevant and critical documents about the “Magic Mike” transaction that Jenna is entitled to receive.”
“In fact, Channing is doing everything possible to prevent this case from reaching a trial. He is depriving Jenna of her fair and equal share of community property, and he is discriminating against her every day as this case continues,” the court documents read.
“As long as this divorce case is pending, he will continue to take unfair advantage of collecting ‘Magic Mike’ proceeds without giving Jenna her fair share — something he has been doing for years.”
Dewan also said Tatum’s team “should have disclosed to the community Glaser Weil’s extensive and ongoing involvement in Marshall transactions related to the ‘Magic Mike’ intellectual property.”
The “Rookie” actress filed for divorce from Tatum in October 2018, citing irreconcilable differences.
The following year, they finalized the divorce but could not reach an agreement on property settlement or the care of their 11-year-old daughter, Everly.
The two former couples married in 2009, three years after meeting on the set of “Step Up.”
Tatum has been dating Zoe Kravitz since 2021. In October 2023, People reported the “21 Jump Street” actor had proposed marriage to the “X-Men: First Class” actress, 35.
Meanwhile, by the time Dewan finalized her divorce from Tatum, she had moved on with Steve Kazee. The two got engaged in 2020.
The actress and Tony Award winner, 48, welcomed two children: son Callum, 4, and daughter Rhiannon, 2 months.
