Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be getting more for his latest film than he expected. Johnson revealed in an Instagram video on Tuesday that he suffered an injury while filming “The Smashing Machine.”

Johnson plays former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Kerr in the film and has been training on the mats for the past few months to prepare for the role. In a post on social media, he revealed that he has some swelling in his right elbow.

“Whenever your movie is called ‘The Smashing Machine,’ you’re going to get smashed,” Johnson said in the video. “…It feels like I have a cantaloupe under my elbow. I got hurt a lot in our scenes today.

“There might be some soft tissue damage there,” he added. “It’s a lot of fluid, we’ll see. I’ve got to get it out of there before I can get any kind of MRI. But yeah, it hurts a lot. But everything is fine. That is until it heals.”

This connection is nothing new for the 52-year-old Johnson, as he was a football player at the University of Miami. In addition, Johnson has had a long career in professional wrestling and recently returned to WWE for a storyline involving Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes that culminated at WrestleMania XL.
