F1 World Furious as “S**t Hole” Chicago Plans Most Hate-Filled Debut
With 3 US races already on the calendar, F1 is considering adding another race in the city of Chicago. It will be the fourth American track and ninth street circuit, including the Madrid GP. Not all fans are happy with this news.
A few weeks ago, it was reported that F1 had applied for the Chicago Grand Prix trademark. This sparked rumors of a Chicago GP. Now, some more news is being spread giving more information on this.
Chicago GP gained popularity
Latest news suggests that F1 has started working towards a race in Chicago. According to reportsOrganizers are not planning to name the race Chicago Grand Prix. Instead, it will be called the North American Grand Prix, or the Chicago Festival Grand Prix.
As per the current situation, the race will probably be held during April or June. To make it more sustainable, they would like to hold it before or after the Canadian Grand Prix which would be closest to Chicago. As of now, there is no timeline as to which season the race will be held. However, we can speculate that it could be on the 2026 or 2028 calendar depending on different track contracts.
Chicago is not a good choice, do people do research before deciding where they will go to race??? Chicago is a cesspool!! New York too!!! NO BLUE STATES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED!!!

Given that the Madrid GP has already been announced by F1, there are not many spaces in the calendar for the 2026 season. As of now, Spa, Monza and Barcelona are out of contract after the 2025 season. The Madrid GP will replace one of these tracks. If a Chicago GP is announced from the 2026 season, it is likely that it will take Spa’s place on the calendar.
No one and I mean absolutely no one wants that…

Given that Monza is one of the most prestigious F1 tracks, it is likely that Formula 1 will extend their contract with them. However, there is a possibility that Monza could also be off the calendar as there is already another race in Italy; Imola.
It will be interesting to see what F1 decides in the coming months. If F1 decides to host the Chicago Grand Prix, they will have to remove one of the fans’ favorite tracks from the calendar. Since there are already 24 races, the game will not be adding more to the calendar.
Fans react to F1 race in Chicago
After news broke that F1 was planning to host a race in Chicago, fans immediately took to social media to express their concerns. Most fans are not liking the fact that F1 is adding another street race and another US race to the calendar.
Although street races have a fascinating appeal, they are not suitable for F1 racing. Modern F1 cars are much larger than before. This makes overtaking in narrow streets very difficult. The texture of these tracks is also very rough which is not suitable for F1 cars.
So the F1 track action has gone dull and they’re using bullets to spice it up!

As things stand, the United States has already hosted 3 Grand Prixs. Of these three, two are highly criticized for their unusual track layouts and pre-race routines. Even F1 drivers prefer tracks where they can test the limits of their respective car. Tracks like Spa, Mugello or such examples.
It will be interesting to see how F1 moves forward with its plans to host the Grand Prix in Chicago. Do you think we’ll see a Chicago GP in 2026? Post your answers in the comments section below.
