Granddaughter of legendary country singer dies after ‘tough health struggle’

Lynn Macy, the eldest granddaughter of the late country music singer Loretta Lynn, has died at the age of 64.

The heartbreaking news was announced Thursday on the official Instagram account run by Lynn’s estate.

“Betty Sue’s daughter Lynn Massey, Loretta’s first grandchild, passed away this week after a long and difficult health battle,” the post read. “Our family is so grateful for the prayers and love that has been continually shown to us.”

No further details were given about Messi’s illness.

Fans were left saddened by the news, with one writing: “Prayers for the family. She’s with grandma now.”

Loretta Lyna passed away in 2022 at the age of 90.

The Kentucky-born country singer — best known for songs like “Coal Miner’s Daughter” — became Macy’s grandmother when she was just 30 years old.

Lynn has six children and 26 grandchildren, including Amy Russell, 24, who appeared on “American Idol” earlier this year.

Lynn, who was married at age 15, made her impoverished childhood the basis for many of her hits.

Even after earning fame and wealth from his brilliant singing career, he had to face a lot of tragedy.

Four of her six children preceded her in death.

Lynn’s eldest son, Jack Benny Lynn, died by drowning in 1984 at the age of just 34.

Meanwhile, the singer’s eldest daughter — and Macy’s mother — Betty Sue died in 2013 from complications related to emphysema.
