Get to know the first ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Joan Vasos:

Vasos is a 61-year-old school administrator from Rockland, Maryland. She is looking for love again after her husband of 32 years died from pancreatic cancer. She is the mother of four children and has two grandchildren.

The promo released ahead of the new season showed Vasos at home with her family members, including her mother and her late husband’s mother.

“I’m not here to replace Dad,” she told her family as they prepared for the journey ahead. “I just want our family to be whole again.”

Vasos first appeared on “The Golden Bachelor” as a boyfriend of Geri Turner. But due to a family emergency, Vasos stepped away from “The Golden Bachelor” after just three episodes. Her daughter was suffering from postpartum depression after a C-section, and Vasos had to be a mother.

Who Are the Men on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’?

There are 24 men competing on this season of “The Golden Bachelorette,” and one of them is already a familiar face to Bachelor Nation viewers. Mark Anderson, a 57-year-old Army veteran from Leesville, Louisiana, is the father of Joey Graziadei’s final rose recipient, Kelsey Anderson.

Graziadei and Kelsey’s love story is what inspired Mark to apply for the show. His official ABC bio reads, “Mark is ready for love after his wife died of breast cancer.”
