Jax Taylor’s co-stars jokingly renamed his sports bar after his wife, Brittany Cartwright, while he was going through treatment.
Would strong drinks be served at the bar by any other name?
Jax Taylor’s co-stars jokingly renamed his sports bar Jax’s Studio City, after his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, while he was in treatment.
“Britts Bar 😉🥂 Just for fun! Hah. Had a fun night at @jaxstudiocity setting up a little bar makeover for our girl @brittany. We always say #BrittsBar… so why not make it a reality?! Hehe,” “Valley” stars Nia Sanchez and Zac Wickham captioned a joint Instagram carousel on Thursday.
Although they reiterated that the post was “purely in jest”, the pair also added a “vote” option, asking their followers whether they thought the establishment should remain “Jack’s” or be changed to “Brits”.
At the time of publication, 96 per cent of the 1,871 voters thought the bar should be renamed.
The duo ended their caption with, “P.S. Thank you so much to @alphalitlosangeles and @picnic_and_petal for the Brits marquee 😍😍.”
In the uploaded photos, Cartwright, 35, is seen glowing in a hot-pink dress while surrounded by Sanchez, Wickham and Kristen Doute, all of whom wore black “Brits Studio City” T-shirts and stood in front of a large lit-up sign that read the same.
Taylor, 45, and Cartwright — who share 3-year-old son Cruz — opened the poorly reviewed sports bar in October 2023, when cameras rolled for Season 1 of the “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff show.
Four months later, Cartwright announced via her and Taylor’s joint podcast that they were separating after nearly five years of marriage.
In April, Taylor insisted he was “definitely working” on himself in the hopes of getting Cartwright back. However, the following month, he claimed the two were open to “possibly dating other people.”
After this, the former model admitted herself to a mental health facility last month.
“Jax has always been open about his mental health struggles, especially on his podcast over the last few months. He has decided to seek treatment in a hospital,” his rep told us at the time.
“This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. He asks for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more about this matter.”
The next day, Taylor took to Instagram to explain her motivation for seeking help: Cruz.
In June, the “Vanderpump Rules” alum revealed on his and Cartwright’s podcast that he met an “absolutely amazing” female doctor at Jax’s Studio City.
“I went in there and literally broke down,” he said.
“I think, ‘This is what’s wrong with me, and this is what I’m doing, and this is what I’m attacking. And I get so angry, and I have a child, and I don’t want him to see me behave this way.'”
Cartwright said they were trying to “finish everything else” before getting a divorce.
Earlier this month, while Taylor was away, it was reported that the Kentucky native was “hanging out” with Tanner Courtaud, who accompanied Britney during filming of Season 2 of “The Valley.”
While he has yet to address the status of his relationship with the “Bachelorette” alum, Cartwright recently slammed the “disgusting” Taylor for lying about her plans to donate her Cameo proceeds to cancer research.
A source told PEOPLE earlier this week that although Cartwright was “supportive” of Taylor’s “decision to get help for the sake of her son,” she “isn’t interested in having anything to do with her” going forward.
