Jennifer Garner enjoys a dinner date with her boyfriend John Miller amid reports that her relationship with her ex-husband Ben Affleck has been ‘difficult’ for her
Jennifer Garner spent some time alone with her boyfriend John Miller amid reports that her relationship with ex-husband Ben Affleck has been “difficult.”
The “13 Going on 30” star looked cozy as she stepped out of a restaurant with the businessman in Malibu, California, on Saturday.
They were all smiles as they headed to their car before Miller ushered the actress inside.
Garner, 52, opted for a gray crew neck sweater and a simple necklace, while Miller, 46, wore a blue flannel and white T-shirt.
While the two appear to be spending their quality time together, Miller was reportedly upset that the mother of three was acting as a “marriage counselor” and “mediator” between her ex-husband Affleck, 52, and his estranged wife Jennifer Lopez.
“John doesn’t like sharing Jen, and they have differences when it comes to Jen and Ben,” an insider told the Daily Mail last week.
“He wishes it didn’t happen because he understands they’re family, but it bothers him just as much as it does anyone else.”
According to the source, Miller isn’t scared by the prospect of Garner reuniting with Affleck, but it has been “tough” for him.
“John is waiting for Ben and J.Lo to split up so he can start focusing on [Garner]” the insider added.
The “Alias” star and Miller began dating in 2018, shortly after she finalized her divorce from Affleck, from whom she split in 2015 after 10 years of marriage.
Garner and the “Gone Girl” actor share children — Violet (18), Seraphina (15), and Samuel (12).
Meanwhile, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, after sources told Page Six that the couple had been married for several months.
The “Gigli” co-stars tied the knot in July 2022 after wrapping up their early 2000s romance a year earlier.
Insiders told Page Six that Lopez was “angry” and “humiliated” that her second attempt at love didn’t work out, especially after she spent months trying to save their relationship.
However, according to US Weekly, Garner became an “unexpected ally” for Lopez amid her relationship problems with Affleck, as they could relate to each other.
Ultimately, the “Juno” star couldn’t help save Affleck and their relationship, a two-time Grammy Award nominee.
Lopez has stayed out of the spotlight since ending her two-year marriage to Affleck, while father of three Affleck has been busy with his kids.
Hours before the “On the Floor” singer filed for divorce, Affleck was back in Los Angeles with Garner and their daughter, Seraphina, having dropped Violet off for her freshman year at Yale University.
On Friday, she was photographed eating ice cream with her two youngest children in Los Angeles.
