Jennifer Lopez’s mother reacts bitterly to possible reconciliation with Diddy in resurfaced clip
Jennifer Lopez’s mother had Diddy in mind from the beginning.
Nearly 10 years ago, Guadalupe Rodriguez made it clear on “The Wendy Williams Show” that she would not approve of her famous daughter reconnecting with Sean “Diddy” Combs, formerly known as Puffy.
A clip of a 2015 appearance on the talk show featuring Lopez, 55, and her mother resurfaced on social media on Tuesday, after Combs, 54, was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
“I was telling you I could see you coming back to Puffy in some way or another,” Williams, 60, told Lopez, who dated Combs between 1999 and 2001.
The “Hustlers” star immediately laughed at Williams’ comment, and the audience applauded.
The two then looked at Rodriguez, who was sitting in the front row and reacted greatly to the conversation.
Lopez’s mother said, “It’s done,” and made a negative hand gesture.
“It’s crazy, everybody came alive. They all had something to say,” Lopez said of the audience’s strong reaction.
“Everybody has their own opinion,” Williams said.
“Yeah. It’s fun for me,” Lopez said.
“So no puffy,” Williams told Lopez, who replied, “No puffy.”
Lopez, who is currently divorcing her fourth husband, Ben Affleck, was entangled with Combs for two years — during which time they were also arrested together.
On December 27, 1999, while the stars were partying at Club New York, a fight with Combs led to gunfire, wounding three people in the club. They fled the scene in Combs’ car, but were stopped after stopping at a red light, and both were arrested.
Now-retired NYPD detective Derrick Parker exclusively told The Post earlier this year that Rodriguez came to the police station where Lopez and Combs were being held.
Parker said, “Her mom was yelling at J.Lo in Spanish and she was really angry at Jennifer. I heard her say, ‘I told you not to mess with (her).'”
He alleged: “They had J.Lo handcuffed to a pole.”
“She was crying all over the squad room,” a police source told the Daily News at the time. “She was so upset by the whole incident.”
Lopez was released without charges after being held in jail for 14 hours.
Combs, on the other hand, was indicted on two counts of possession of an unregistered gun and attempted bribery after he allegedly tried to get his bodyguard, Anthony Jones, to claim the weapon was his.
The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer split from Combs in 2001. Two years later, she told Vibe magazine that the rapper “wasn’t faithful” while they were together.
“I was in this relationship with Puff where I was completely crying, getting mad and being crazy, it really messed up my whole life,” she explained. “I never held him [cheating] But I knew. He would say he was going to the club for a few hours and then never return that night.”
Lopez also addressed claims that she “looked for” Combs in hotel rooms. “I don’t remember right now, but I’m not going to say it didn’t happen,” she said.
Combs was arrested Monday night in New York City on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.
The 14-page unsealed indictment claims Combs forced female and male prostitutes to perform sexual performances called “freak offs” while he masturbated and recorded the sex sessions that sometimes lasted for days.
Combs’ arrest comes just months after Homeland Security raided his home in March. During the raid, federal authorities found 1,000 bottles of lubricant and baby oil and three AR-15s, according to the indictment.
The rapper pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges on Tuesday. He remains in custody on a judge’s order after his $50 million bail was denied.
