Kelly Ripa once jumped off a boat to prove she could talk ‘fluently’ to a dolphin

Kelly Ripa once dived into the ocean because she thought she could communicate with dolphins.

During Tuesday’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” the talk show host recalled her friend’s 50th birthday trip to Mexico, where they met a dolphin.

“Several years ago, we were in Mexico, O.K., for our friend’s 50th birthday, and they had rented a boat for sunset cocktails,” she began. “And suddenly, in the water, we were surrounded by wild dolphins.”

The 53-year-old former actress revealed she was returning from filming an episode of the talk show in Miami, where she swam with dolphins and “talked” to them.

“So, I, Kelly Ripa, jumped in the water and I said, ‘I know how to talk to dolphins!’ I say, ‘I’ll call them!’” she said, making a high-pitched clicking sound, which she uses to attract them.

However, one of his friends reminded him that they encountered “wild dolphins” and not “trained dolphins.”

“But in my mind, I thought I could talk to the dolphins because I said so fluently He said laughing.

Ripa’s co-host and husband of 28 years, Mark Consuelos, then jokingly told her, “Yeah. You should know how to do it in Spanish, and then it’ll be fine.”

The longtime talk show host shared her story after Consuelos, 53, read a report that some artificial intelligence agencies were working on enabling humans and animals to talk to each other.

The “Riverdale” actor was passionate about this story, as he wanted to know what his beloved rescue dog, Lena, was saying.

“I know what she’s saying! ‘Get away from me, you weirdo!'” Ripa joked to her husband.

The stars of “All My Children” have never been shy about teasing each other on the Emmy Award-winning talk show.

Recently, Ripa exposed her husband, saying that he has made her his “personal ATM” because he “doesn’t carry cash.”

The two also opened up about their love life, shared details about their three kids, and even packed on the PDA during a previous episode.

The couple eloped in Las Vegas and married in 1996 and have three children: sons Michael, 27, Joaquin, 21, and daughter Lola, 23.
