Macklemore fan wanted by police arrested after rapper invited him on stage for rap duet

Macklemore accidentally enjoyed a duet with a runaway on stage during his headline show at the Lovestream Festival in Slovakia on Saturday.

The 41-year-old “Thrift Shop” hitmaker greeted a fan during his performance on the main stage, but the woman appeared to have forgotten that there was a warrant out for his arrest.

The 24-year-old was brought on stage to perform Macklemore’s hit song “Downtown” before a man in the crowd recognized the woman as being wanted by police.

This accidental lapse was welcome news to the local authorities, who were prepared to arrest him immediately.

In a Facebook post shared on the official page of the Slovakian police, officers released a statement about the incident, which they described as a “strange situation.”

“During the performance of one of the foreign interpreters, one of the audience members was also selected to the stage, who sang along with him [Macklemore] And he apparently enjoyed the joint performance with his idol,” the translated statement said.

“The woman immortalized this experience and narrated it on social networks, which did not escape the attention of an attentive citizen who at the same time follows the site of MV SR. He recognized the woman and discovered that she had seen her on the website mentioned above and immediately informed the police.”

“The police waited until the woman on the stage was taken out.” [identified as an] “An adult, a 24-year-old woman from Bratislava, was taken into custody after a court ordered her to serve a prison sentence, which she was avoiding,” he said.

“The woman was then taken to the institution’s premises for confinement.”

The Post has contacted Macklemore’s representatives for comment.

The social media post also included a photo of Macklemore with his arm around a woman standing on stage.

Although local police have not revealed the charges against him, local news outlets report he owes a $900 fine in connection with an incident in 2019.

Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, was one of the rappers on stage over the weekend.

Other stars who headlined the festival included 50 Cent, Rita Ora, Chase & Status and Tiesto.
