Macy Gray denies daughter’s claim son hit her, confirms family ‘issues’: ‘He would never do that’

Macy Gray denied her daughter Anissa Hinds’ claims that the “I Try” singer’s son, Tracy Melvin Hinds, drunkenly attacked her.

“My son and I love each other, and he would never think of causing me any physical harm,” Gray told People through his rep on Tuesday.

“Also, like any family, we have our issues and we’re dealing with it.”

Page Six also contacted the Grammy winner’s representatives, but they declined to comment further.

Grey’s comments contradict Anissa’s claim in a court filing previously obtained by Page Six that her mother would support her allegations about her brother.

The 29-year-old wrote in a temporary restraining order request that the “Sweet Baby” singer wants Tracy, 28, to “go away” and “will confirm” that he allegedly behaved abusively.

Aneesa also detailed an argument between family members last Saturday and claimed that at one point she turned physical, leading to the police getting involved.

“Tracy got into a physical altercation with my mother,” the graphic designer alleged in the filing.

“He stalked her and harassed her as he always does when he’s drunk.”

Anissa claimed that her partner, Cornell Pearson, who is referred to in the documents as her fiancĂ©, tried to intervene, but Tracy then “fought” him.

They further claimed, “We waited for the police to arrive while he kept banging on the doors of our rooms looking for a confrontation.”

Anissa explained in the filing that this was not an isolated incident, claiming that her younger brother reacts similarly “every time he drinks alcohol, usually monthly.”

She said she and Pearson are expecting their first child in September and as a result, she has asked for a restraining order against her, her child’s father, and her famous mother.

Los Angeles Superior Court temporarily granted Anissa’s request for a restraining order, but a February 27 hearing will determine whether the order will remain active.

In addition to Anissa and Tracy, Grey, whose real name is Natalie McIntyre, has daughter Happy Hinds, 27, with her ex-husband Tracy Hinds, whom she was married to from 1996 to 1998.
