Martin Short and Meryl Streep hold hands at ‘Only Murders’ premiere after squashing dating rumors

Martin Short and Meryl Streep were spotted holding hands in the Season 4 premiere of “Only Murders in the Building” after shutting down romance rumors.

The comedian and the “It’s Complicated” actress — who play love interests on the hit Hulu show — looked in good spirits while walking with co-star Steve Martin on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles on Thursday, according to a video shared by Deadline.

Earlier in the night, the two looked comfortable while posing for photos together on the red carpet alongside their co-stars, including Martin and Selena Gomez.

At one point, they jokingly stood a few feet away from each other and started holding each other’s hands.

Streep, 75, wore a long blue and white Stella McCartney dress with three thin black belts cinched around her waist. She accessorized with white slip-on kitten heels, a white purse, silver hoops and her signature black glasses.

Meanwhile, Short, 74, also kept his classy look intact by wearing a black suit with a white button-down shirt and a maroon tie.

Representatives for Short and Streep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Devil Wears Prada” star and the “Three Amigos” actor first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted looking quite cozy with each other at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in January.

However, Short later dismissed the speculation and insisted they were “just very close friends” on an episode of the “Club Random with Bill Maher” podcast later that month.

Short reiterated that he and Streep are “friends” in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Thursday.

However, the two haven’t let romance rumors stop them from hanging out, and have been spotted together multiple times over the past seven months.

Most recently, they were photographed enjoying the Broadway show “Merrily We Roll Along” at the Hudson Theatre in New York City in March.

Earlier, they were spotted leaving together after dinner with friends at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, California.

Page Six reported in October 2023 that Streep was single after secretly splitting from her husband Don Gummer six years ago after 40 years of marriage.

Meanwhile, Short was married to Nancy Dolman for 30 years until her death in 2010.
