OJ Simpson’s ashes turned into jewelry for his 4 kids
OJ Simpson’s lawyer reveals where the late athlete’s ashes are.
Four months after Simpson’s death, Malcolm Lavergne told TMZ that his remains were used to create funeral jewelry for his four surviving children.
The pieces were divided between Arnell, 55, Jason, 54, Sydney, 38, and Justin, 36, the lawyer said Monday.
Lavergne said he didn’t want this for himself, but said the cost of the cremation, jewelry and death certificate came to $4,243.06.
Simpson lost his battle with cancer in April.
The former NFL player’s children visited Simpson in his final days, with TMZ reporting that they all signed confidentiality agreements.
According to the outlet, he wasn’t allowed to have his phone in the room where he said goodbye.
Simpson shares Arnelle and Jason with his ex-wife Marguerite Whitley.
The former couple, who divorced in 1979, were also parents to daughter Aren, who died that same year before her second birthday.
Simpson welcomed Sydney and Justin with Nicole Brown Simpson.
The retired running back was found not guilty in the 1994 murders of Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman — but was found liable for their deaths in a civil trial.
He then had to stay in jail for armed robbery charges.
Simpson was active on social media following his release, telling his Instagram followers in May 2023 about undergoing chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis.
His last public performance was in Las Vegas in February the following year.
That same month, the former Buffalo Bills player claimed his health was “good” and that he was “almost over” his “problems.”
