Pal warns Simone Biles against wearing a Packers jacket to her husband Jonathan Owens’ Bears game

Simone Biles was warned against wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket to her husband Jonathan Owens’ Chicago Bears game over the weekend, before her outfit caused an uproar on social media.

“If I were you, I’d take that jacket off,” the 11-time Olympic medalist’s friend suggested during Tuesday’s episode of the HBO series “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Chicago Bears,” according to People .

Biles, 27, didn’t listen to the advice and wore the jacket, which featured Owens, 29, in a jersey bearing the No. 34 — the same number he wore when he played with the Green Bay Packers for one season in 2023.

Green Bay and the Chicago Bears — the team Owens has signed with this year — have a historic rivalry, which made fans all the more surprised to learn she would be attending the game on Saturday.

“This is extremely ignorant of your surroundings and a disrespect to her husband,” one shocked fan tweeted after Biles was spotted at the game.

“With all due respect, Simone Biles needs to throw that jacket in the trash ASAP,” another demanded.

A third added, “Simone Biles should be stripped of all her medals after wearing Packers gear while cheering for the Bears. Yeah yeah I get it, her husband played for the Packers and it’s an Owens themed jacket, but this is just wrong.”

Biles has not responded to the backlash, but she happily addressed Chicago Bears fans in a video shared on NBC Sports’ social media on Saturday.

In the video, she smiles and says, “What’s up, Chicago? Go Bears.” Interestingly, her jacket was taken off her shoulders for the clip.

NBC Sports captioned the video, “The Bears’ newest fan … Simone Biles!”

The star athlete also took to his Instagram page to show off his look amid the harsh criticism.

The outfit she posted on Monday included a flowy jacket worn over a black athletic bodysuit, which she paired with a black Prada bucket hat, reflective glasses and a black Balenciaga purse.

She completed her look with black and white Nike sneakers.

“🗣️ ‘endure,’” she captioned the carousel, which ended with a photo of her about to kiss Owens on the football field.

Owens supported his wife by commenting with a blue and orange heart emoji.

This isn’t the first time the couple has surprised fans with their outfit choices.

Earlier this month, the NFL player faced criticism for wearing the first Olympic gold medal his wife won at the Paris Olympic Games.

However, the world-renowned gymnast hit back at haters, calling them “extremely sad”.

She and Owens have been married since May 2023.
