Pink abruptly ends concert after woman goes into labor in middle of mosh pit
Pink were forced to stop their first concert in Sydney after a woman went into labor in the mosh pit.
The singer stopped her show at the Allianz Stadium after concertgoers began waving to the crowd to signal that the expectant mother had gone into labor.
A medic attended to the woman and she was wheeled out of the moss pit in a wheelchair, waving to the crowd.
Pink was in the middle of singing ‘Our Song’ when she learned of the news on stage.
“Is it Alecia or Alex being born now?” Pink said, referencing her birth name, Alecia Beth Moore.
“I guess we shouldn’t look,” she joked. “Everyone give him privacy!”
“She didn’t have the baby yet, right? Is the child here? No? Okay,” she confirmed, before shouting: “Congratulations!”
The 44-year-old expressed surprise that “‘Our Song’ was the one that did it.”
“I thought it would be like ‘Get the Party Started’ or ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’,” he said, referencing his other tracks.
“It’s exciting,” she continued, before wishing mom good luck and resuming the concert.
“it’s going to be great!”
Pink was performing her first show on the Australian leg of her Summer Carnival stadium tour.
This is the singer’s first Australian tour in almost six years.
Pink’s husband Carey Hart and their two children, Willow and Jameson, joined the singer when she arrived in Australia ahead of the concert last week.
More than 35,000 fans are expected to attend the two Sydney concerts on Friday and Saturday nights.
