Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to tell their kids about their royal lineage
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly in no rush to tell their kids they’re royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are the proud parents of Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3 — but both want their children to have a normal upbringing.
“They will have a conversation about it at the appropriate time,” a source close to the couple told Us Weekly. “They are very well behaved. Archie is sweet, curious and playful, and Lily is lively and cheerful.”
Still, Archie — who is sixth in line to the throne, while Lilibet is seventh — will eventually find out about his royal lineage.
Harry, 39, and the “Suits” alumnus, 43, live with their kids in a $14 million luxury mansion in Montecito, California. The couple reportedly makes a conscious effort to keep their kids out of the spotlight.
“I think every parent wants to share their child with the world, but they can’t,” the insider said.
,[Prince] For example, William’s children receive greater protection, even though they can be identified. And the same does not apply to Meghan and Harry’s children.”
“They know the world wants to see [them but] “I expect them to live short lives until this issue is resolved,” the source said.
The source added that despite their busy schedules, Harry and Meghan are active parents.
“They take the kids to school, bring them back, and they’re very active and present with them throughout the day,” the insider added.
While the Sussexes are typically tight-lipped about their home life, Markle couldn’t stop herself from gushing about her “talkative, lovely” children during her trip to Colombia with Harry earlier this month.
“It’s always been my dream to be a mom. And I’m so lucky that we have two beautiful, healthy, very talkative, loving kids,” she said. “I love being a mom.”
Markle will remain in Montecito with her children next month, while Harry travels to New York for United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week.
Harry, 39, will be in the Big Apple to “further his many conservation and philanthropic initiatives,” his rep said, adding that the father of two will be busy with African Parks, The Halo Trust, The Diana Award and Travelist.
His rep told the Post in a statement that he will also “further the work of The Archewell Foundation, a nonprofit organization he founded with his wife, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.”
