Prince Harry finds new ‘father’ in Hollywood in A-list musician: report
Prince Harry has found a new “dad” in Hollywood music producer and film composer David Foster, according to a report.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, has endured a fractured relationship with his father, King Charles III, after leaving royal life and moving to the US in 2020.
The ongoing rift has been exacerbated by the release of a number of revealing projects by the Sussex camp, including their 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
After settling down in Montecito, California, with the former “Suits” star, 43, it appears Harry has found a new close friend he can rely on — and that includes the Canadian music icon, The Times of London reports.
The 74-year-old film composer, who is just a year younger than Harry’s father, has become a close friend and confidante of Harry’s as the Sussexes continue their lives in the US.
According to the report, the 16-time Grammy Award winner, who lives near Harry and Meghan in their plush Montecito neighborhood, often turns to Harry for advice.
What’s more, their close relationship was previously described as “beautiful” by Foster’s wife and actress Katharine McPhee, who said the pair are “like father and son.”
“My husband has a beautiful relationship with Harry. They’re very sweet,” she said.
McPhee is no stranger to the royal couple, as they previously attended the same Catholic middle school in Los Angeles that Markle, 43, attended.
Though McPhee, 40, wasn’t friends with the “Suits” alumnus in school, the two reconnected while McPhee was starring in the “Waitress” musical in London.
During that time, a friendship began between Harry and Foster.
The four’s friendship grew stronger after Harry and Meghan quit royal life and moved overseas four years ago.
Foster and McPhee helped the couple find a place to live in Canada, which eventually turned into a $14.1 million rental home in Victoria.
The two eventually moved to Montecito after only living in British Columbia for three months.
Speaking in 2020, Foster said he was honoured to have helped the couple.
“I was happy to do whatever I could for him through my friend, and he seemed to have a very good rest,” he told the Daily Mail at the time.
“They’re a young modern family. I’m sure they want to balance their commitment to the crown and be a 2020 family.”
These days, the couple frequently travels together around the Golden State.
