Recently single Leah Remini warned J.Lo about Ben Affleck before feuding with the singer and filing for divorce herself

This queen was a little uneasy about her best friend being a king.

Leah Remini has reconnected with her former best friend Jennifer Lopez after reports surfaced of the pop star’s rift with Ben Affleck, sources told Page Six in May.

The former “The King of Queens” cast member, 54, and the “On the Floor” singer, 55, originally had a falling out over Lopez and Affleck’s marriage.

According to the insider, Remini and Lopez feuded over Remini’s concerns about the “Air” director ahead of the former couple’s wedding in 2022.

The “People Puzzler” host warned the artist to remember why she broke up with Affleck during their relationship in the early 2000s.

What were those issues? As the source explained, “Because he’s selfish and doesn’t fully commit as a partner.”

Meanwhile, a second source said Remini has been wanting to reconnect with her former best friend for a while.

“They were friends for years. She wants to reach out to him, but she can’t call and say ‘I told you so,'” the insider shared in May. “J.Lo got so upset that she cut off all ties.”

Now, Remini and Lopez can lean on each other, as Remini has announced that she and her husband, Angelo Pagan, have separated after 21 years of marriage.

The news comes two weeks after Lopez filed for divorce without an attorney on her and Affleck’s second wedding anniversary.

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in July 2022 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, before saying “I do” for a second time the following month at Affleck’s estate in Riceboro, Georgia, where Remini was not invited.

At the time, sources told TMZ that the actress was busy getting her daughter Sofia, 20, ready to go off to college, whom she now lives with separately from husband Pagan.

Remini and Pagan, 56, announced the news of their divorce in a joint statement on Instagram on Thursday.

“Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years married, we have decided to file for divorce. This decision has been made after a lot of thought and care, and as difficult as divorce is, we are approaching it with a positive attitude because we know it is what is best for us. We are proud that we worked through this together,” the statement said.

“Yes, we’re sad, and we have some things to figure out as we move forward into our new normal — in many ways we’re together, and in some new ways we’re apart. But the point is this: We’ve been best friends for so many years,” they continued. “We’re still celebrating the holidays together, watching our favorite TV shows together, and gathering as a family.”

Both of them also explained in detail about their decision to separate.

“So, the big question is why? Simply put, we both changed, as people do, and got used to playing roles that no longer suited us,” the statement read.

“After a lot of effort and consideration, we have decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today. Our relationship is still strong – it has just evolved into something different. We feel that a marriage that has lasted so long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our wonderful daughter, is worth celebrating,” they concluded. “From our perspective, this marriage was a great success. And now, we are looking forward to creating even more beloved moments – just in a different way.”

Remini and Pagan met in 1996 at El Floridita, a Cuban club and restaurant in Los Angeles, and married in 2003.

Lopez, meanwhile, is single after trying out a second romance with Affleck.

The Hollywood stars began dating in 2002 and broke off their initial engagement in 2004. Lopez and Affleck went on to have children and marry Marc Anthony and Jennifer Garner, respectively, but finally rekindled their romance in 2021.

After they first split, the Grammy winner admitted she felt like she was “going to die” and went into an 18-year “spiral.”

But this time, Affleck’s proposal was completely different. The “Batman” actor engraved a special meaning into Lopez’s engagement ring, which is estimated to be worth “over $5 million.”

“It says ‘not going anywhere’ because that’s how he’s going to sign his emails when we start talking again,” he told Apple Music One’s Zane Lowe about his second engagement in 2022. “Like, ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.’”
