Royal Family will ‘ignore’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, focus on ‘next generation’ of monarchy: report

King Charles and Queen Camilla spent their summer holidays at Balmoral discussing the future of the British monarchy, according to a report.

The 75-year-old monarch hosted a ceremony at the royal family’s Scottish residence earlier this month in which she outlined Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future relationship with the royal family, reports Express.

According to palace sources, the firm has decided to turn its focus to the next generation of the royal family by 2030.

“The strategy now is to shift the focus from what the Sussexes are doing to putting the emphasis on the next generation of the royal family,” a source told the outlet.

“It looks like we’re not thinking about the past but rather moving forward with our properties, which are the younger members of the royal family.”

The insider said: “King Charles is keenly aware that the younger generation is the future of the monarchy and he is focused on ensuring its legacy continues after he is gone – and that can be safeguarded in the Wales era.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, their daughter Zara Tindall, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are all currently at Balmoral, where talks are ongoing.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were notably overlooked at the royal reunion this summer.

While Charles will be considering the line of succession, sources have said, he will also consider creating unofficial roles for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and her brother James Wessex, and the Tindall children.

A source further said, “The future of the royal family does not depend only on the Wales family. It also depends on other members of the royal family, who have their own identity in this country and around the world.”

“It’s all about building a brand, and the family recognizes that,” the insider said.

It was reported last week that Harry’s position as fifth in line of succession to the throne could be at risk after he sensationally renounced British residency in April.

Sources close to the palace have claimed that Charles is not only considering separating from the Sussexes, but he is also reportedly considering removing them both from the order of succession.

The Post has contacted Buckingham Palace and representatives for the Sussexes for comment.
