Rumer Willis gives update on health of father Bruce battling aphasia and dementia
Rumer Willis has updated fans on her father Bruce Willis’ condition, as he is still suffering from frontotemporal dementia.
“He is great,” she wrote during a Q&A session on her Instagram Story on Friday. “I love him so much. Thank you.”
The 35-year-old actress shared a photo of herself holding hands with 69-year-old Bruce.
The “Die Hard” actor retired from acting in March 2022 after his family revealed he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a rare form of dementia that causes people to have trouble speaking and remembering information.
However, in February 2023, his family — which includes his ex-wife Demi Moore, his current wife Emma Heming, and their five daughters — announced that he has frontotemporal dementia, which causes speech and behavioral problems.
Rumer opened up about her father’s health on the “Today” show in May.
“He’s great. I actually went to see him right before he came out [to New York],” He said.
He also praised his relationship with his one-year-old daughter Louetta.
“And Lou is just starting to walk a little bit, and she was going up to him, and it was so cute,” she recalled.
Rumer shares Louetta with her ex-husband Derek Richard Thomas. During the same Q&A session on Friday, she revealed they are no longer together.
“I’m single and I’m co-parenting,” she confirmed.
“I’m so grateful for Lou. She’s the best thing that’s happened to my life and I’ll always be grateful that I was able to spend so much time in that relationship that she came into my life.”
After going official on Instagram in November 2022, she and Thomas welcomed their daughter in April 2023.
Rumer also said she plans to have six to seven kids and is “definitely” open to welcoming another baby as a single mom.
