Shannon Beador clarifies her beloved dog Archie is not dead, says he’s ‘in heaven’
Shannon Beador clarified that her beloved dog Archie has not died, telling her followers that he is “in heaven.”
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star sparked concern on Wednesday when she shared an adorable photo of her golden retriever looking lovingly at the camera with his mouth open.
She captioned the Instagram Story post: “Archie is in heaven with lots of friends!”
Beador, 60, apparently received a ton of messages about her ambiguous caption, as she also posted a clarification later that same day.
“I said he was ‘in heaven’ because there were so many little dogs there [sic] “Around him! Little dogs are his favorite!!! Archie is great!!!” she wrote on a photo of the dog playing in the ocean.
“RHOC” viewers have known and loved Archie since Beador introduced him on the Bravo reality series in 2016.
The “Housewife” adopted the puppy after a fan tweeted a picture of it and asked her if she knew anyone who was looking for a pet.
“A few months later, Archie came to our home,” she told The Daily Dish in 2017. “He’s so funny and very protective and has some cute habits, and we all love him!”
However, his journey hasn’t always been easy.
In 2021, Beador pleaded with her social media followers for help finding Archie after he went missing overnight.
“I don’t know what happened but I’ve been screaming his name every two seconds for the last five hours, so if there’s anyone here in the Port Streets [a community in Orange County] “When I saw my dog, we were devastated,” she said in a tearful Instagram Story video.
Thankfully, just hours later, the reality star told fans that she had found her beloved dog.
“Archie is home! Thank you to everyone who helped me overnight and especially to my neighbour who kept him home and safe! So grateful,” she wrote in a post at the time.
The two faced another problem in September last year when Beador drove after drinking alcohol with Archie in the car and was later arrested for driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
After the Bravolebrity parked her car after hitting a house, she was caught pretending to walk the dog.
A police official later told Page Six that Beador had eventually asked officers if Archie could be “left at someone’s home so she could take care of him while she dealt with her situation.”
Archie was unhurt in the accident and was taken home, while his owner was taken into custody.
Beador is now reunited with her dog and frequently shares adorable photos of them together.
