Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, was introduced Wednesday to one of the greatest collegiate basketball players of all time, Caitlin Clark.
Biles was in attendance at Clark’s Indiana Fever game against the Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
Biles, 27, and Olympic track and field star Gabby Thomas, 27, greeted Clark, 22, and her teammates after the 84-80 winning game, according to a video posted on their team’s official X account.
“The team was so happy to meet Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas after our win at @GainbridgeFH,” the WNBA team captioned the video.
In the clip, Biles was seen giving Clark a warm hug and congratulating her on her win that night.
Clark told the Olympians, “Hi guys,” to which Biles replied, “It’s so nice to meet you.”
Biles was surprised by how excited her Fever teammates were to meet her and Thomas.
“Usually the guys just say, ‘Yo,’ when they walk past me, but they were so excited. It was really cool,” Biles said with a laugh.
The 4-foot-8 athlete reposted the video on her ex’s account to show her support for Clark and all the women in the league.
“Everyone watches women’s sports 🫶🏾 So happy to be able to support! My first of many WNBA games 🤞🏾,” Biles wrote on X Wednesday.
Fans naturally went crazy over the meeting, with one person commenting on Biles’ post, “The Olympic GOAT with the future #WNBA GOAT 😍😍.”
Another added: “Greatness meeting greatness!!! Love the support and love in these photos!!!”
Thomas also expressed how excited she was to be in the arena, writing on X Wednesday, “First WNBA game of many! So much fun supporting these stars 🙌🏽.”
The professional sprinter won three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics by competing in the women’s 200m race, women’s 4x100m relay, and women’s 4x400m relay.
Biles won gold medals in the team final, individual all-around final, and vault final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She also won a silver medal for her floor routine.
Following her multiple Olympic victories this year, Biles became the most decorated gymnast in history, with a total of 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals.
Meanwhile, Clark is regarded as one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time after becoming the NCAA Division I’s all-time leading scorer during her tenure with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The point guard, who is credited with helping popularize women’s basketball and even break ESPN viewership records, was the WNBA’s No. 1 draft pick and was selected by the Fever in April.
