The cute meaning behind Justin and Hailey Bieber’s newborn son’s name
Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber used a family nickname in the name of their newborn son.
The couple announced on Friday night that they have welcomed their first child, a boy named Jack Blues Bieber. Jack is the middle name of Justin’s father, Jeremy Bieber.
Page Six has reached out to representatives to confirm if the name is a tribute to the chancellor.
Justin and Jeremy, 30, didn’t always have a close relationship, with Jeremy growing up primarily under the care of his mother, Pattie Mallette.
In 2015, the pop star reflected on his estrangement from his father and confirmed that Jeremy would need to grow up before he could take on a full-fledged parental role.
“He was immature. He left for a year when I was about 4. He went to British Columbia, came back on Father’s Day,” he told Billboard at the time.
“I remember my mom saying, ‘If you want to be here, you have to be here.’”
Justin then added, “There’s this misconception that he’s a negligent father, but he’s been in my life ever since. I was with him on the weekends and on Wednesdays.”
The following year, the “Lonely” singer revealed he was “a lot closer” to Jeremy than he was to his own mother.
However, Mallette is still involved in Justin’s life, as she revealed how thrilled she was when Justin and Hailey announced their pregnancy in May.
“Oh my god, I’m going to be a grandma. Oh my god!” she said in a video shared on Instagram.
“Justin and Hailey you are going to be the best parents ever and I am so excited. OMG. Praise God.”
She later shot down speculation that the couple were expecting twins when she shared a post about the baby news on Instagram, saying she and Hailey’s dad, Stephen Baldwin, would have “the cutest grandchildren ever.”
Despite Stephen’s own happiness over the pregnancy, Hailey said in July that she’s “not very close” with his family because she’s “very independent.”
“But when I think about my childhood and growing up, I have such lovely, beautiful memories,” the 27-year-old model said at the time.
Justin and Hailey haven’t revealed much information about their baby’s birth, not even his or her birth date.
The Road founder has yet to post her own announcement. Instead, she reposted the “Sorry” hitmaker’s announcement photo to her Instagram Story.
Justin and Hailey have been married since 2018 and renewed their vows earlier this year before announcing they were expecting their first child.
