Travis and Jason Kelsey puzzled by Swiftie’s username: ‘Is it a song or something?’
Swifties stunned Travis and Jason Kelsey on the latest episode of their podcast.
While reading messages from fans who wrote suggestions for “New Heights” bonus content on Wednesday, the 36-year-old retired Philadelphia Eagles center read a note from someone with the username Emma Fell In Love.
“Is this a song or something?” she asked her brother after a long moment of silence, to which the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end quietly replied, “I have no idea.”
The username was likely a reference to Taylor Swift’s song “When Emma Falls in Love”, which appeared on her 2023 album “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)”.
The listener suggested the Kelsey brothers break the rules of football for Swifties, who only started following the sport after Travis and the 34-year-old pop star went public with their relationship.
“I’m sure a lot of Swifties and a lot of fathers, daughters would love the content from the ‘New Heights’ show to teach football concepts in an ELI-5 format,” the fan said, using the acronym for “Explain Like I’m 5.”
Travis said it was “one of the better ideas than 92 percent of people have suggested”, referencing his joke that 8 percent of his listeners listen just because they like Swift.
The NFL stars are promoting their podcast after signing a deal with Amazon-owned company Wondery in August that is reportedly worth more than $100 million.
Travis and Jason previously thanked Swifties for the huge success of their weekly show, which is in its third season.
In March, he thanked Swift’s devoted fan base after she won Podcast of the Year at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards.
The feeling is clearly mutual, considering the “Cruel Summer” singer expressed her admiration for Travis during her acceptance speech at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards last week while taking home the award for Video of the Year.
“I could always hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting [the ‘Fortnight’ music video]” he recalled holding his Moon Person statuette at the Sept. 11 awards ceremony.
“And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns into joy, fun, and magic, and I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember it.”
The couple began dating last summer.
Since then, they have publicly professed their love, and Swift even mentioned their relationship on her album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which she released in April.
