Travis, Jason Kelsey sign ‘New Heights’ podcast deal worth over $100 million
Travis and Jason Kelsey are taking their podcast to “new heights.”
The famous NFL athletes have signed a three-year deal with Amazon’s Wondery, giving the company exclusive ad-sales and distribution rights. A source familiar with the deal told Variety on Tuesday that the deal between the Kelces and Wondery is worth more than $100 million.
Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 28 — the start of the new NFL season — Wondery will have global distribution rights to all audio and video episodes of “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelsey,” including the podcast’s back catalog.
The audio company will also have the rights to create international adaptations of “New Heights” and distribute and monetize the audio and video episodes, the trade publication reported.
A rep for Wondery did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
“We are so excited to be working closely with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights,’” the Kelsey brothers said in a statement. “We love this show and the fan base that has grown with us over the past two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will provide a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights!’”
“We are going to create some incredible moments together through this partnership,” the statement added. “We are thrilled to begin Season 3 – see you soon, 92%ers!”
“New Heights” made huge strides last season, no doubt helped by the help of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
In June, the retired Philadelphia Eagles player, 36, and Travis, 34, acknowledged the impact the pop star, (34), had on their podcast audience.
“We have a lot of new football fans coming in,” Travis told the Cannes Lions Festival. “So we’re not talking about football like in the locker room, but trying to simplify it or make it more simple so that everyone can watch it and still enjoy the show.”
Jason said he loved that the podcast was getting more and more girls “into a sport that there wasn’t much interest in before”, while also bringing fathers and daughters together.
The new ESPN analyst — who shares three daughters, Wyatt, Elliott and Bennett, with his wife Kylee Kelsey — said his podcast allows the worlds “to collide, which is wonderful.”
