Travis Kelsey praises Jason’s green velour tracksuit for ‘Monday Night Countdown’: ‘Looked awesome’
Jason Kelsey, Fashion Star?
The 36-year-old former NFL player made a memorable return to Lincoln Financial Stadium on Monday night — his first since retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of last season.
And on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights,” the podcast Jason shares with brother Travis Kelsey, the two discuss his memorable dance moves and eye-popping green velour tracksuit.
“Everybody thinks I’m a dancer; you’re the best dancer,” the Kansas City Chiefs player, 34, said, laughing at Jason’s moves – which Jason insisted were done “completely sober.”
“Did you look as Italian as you did?” Travis asked, to which his older brother replied, “You know how when you wear a uniform, you feel more official?”
Travis said, “That’s why I dress up. That’s the feeling I want when I dress up… a good two-piece that makes you feel like you’re in a costume.”
Jason dubbed this look his “South Philly Tuxedo” in a skit that featured Eagles employee Dom “Big Dom” DeSandro gifting him the set before “Monday Night Countdown.”
However, there were some complaints about its looks.
“Well, velour — not very breathable,” Jason said. (That’s probably why the NFL great later swapped the hoodie and pants for a more traditional dark green suit.)
He also had to make some last-minute changes to his athletic attire.
“We had to sew these Italian flags on, because it was actually an Eagles tracksuit,” Jason joked, “but they didn’t want me to wear the Eagles thing. They didn’t want me to show any favoritism, which I understand.”
“I think the Italian flags took it to another level, I was wearing some nice chains. It was a fun sight,” the athlete said.
Travis agreed, “You looked great, congratulations Big Dom.”
In a recent podcast episode, the brothers talked a lot about their fashion.
Travis poked fun at Jason last week after he had a major wardrobe mishap during his “Monday Night Countdown” debut in which he forgot his suit and bought a last-minute Lululemon that was slightly small.
And Jason hit back at his younger brother, mocking his white Gucci outfit at the US Open, which included a bucket hat and cardigan.
