UEFA Europa League 2024-25 draw result: Jose Mourinho returns to Manchester United with Fenerbahce

The UEFA Europa League 2024-25 draw has been finalised, with Jose Mourinho likely to return as Fenerbahce boss in the league stage. The Red Devils have also included UEFA Champions League regulars FC Porto as both of these test matches are to be played away from home.

On the other side, two of Mourinho’s former clubs – AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur – drew with each other, with the Italians also beating recent winners Eintracht Frankfurt. Spurs beat Rangers and Galatasaray in difficult games for Ange Postecoglou’s men, while the Scottish giants got arguably the toughest draws with United, Olympique Lyonnais and UEFA Conference League champions Olympiacos.

The current title holders were in pot two and also got Porto, Braga, Lyon and Twente as the Greeks prepare to win the Europa League title after their Conference win. For Mourinho, his Fenerbache side will travel to face Slavia Praha, AZ and Twente while United will host Lyon and Union SG as well as Athletic Club.
