Week 1 NFL picks, predictions, best bets from Vegas expert: This 3-team football parlay pays out nearly 6-1

Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams will make his NFL regular season debut when the Chicago Bears host the Tennessee Titans in Week 1. Chicago finished the 2023 season with an 8-7-2 spread record, but that will look different in 2024. In addition to Williams, the Bears add a trio of talented playmakers to their offense in wide receivers Rome Odunze and Keenan Allen and running back D’Andre Swift. Chicago is a 4.5-point favorite in the latest NFL Week 1 odds, and the over/under is 44.5 points. Should you back Williams and the Bears to cover one of the week’s big NFL spreads at home, or should the Titans be one of your Week 1 NFL upset picks? Before you make Week 1 NFL picks or NFL parlays, be sure to check out what SportsLine senior analyst Larry Hartstein has to say.

Hartstein, the former head writer for Covers and The Linemakers, combines a vast network of Vegas sources with an analytical approach he honed while working for Pro Football Focus. He tied for 52nd place (out of 1,598 entries) by going 53-34-3 ATS in the 2022 Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest. Hartstein’s weekly Vegas contest picks form the basis of his NFL Best Bets column, which is 79-48-2 (62.2%, +25.95 units) since its inception in 2022. Anyone who has followed him is way ahead of the pack.

For Week 1, Hartstein has three great bets. If you successfully parlay his picks, you’ll get a payout of roughly 6-1. You can see Hartstein’s Week 1 NFL picks only at SportsLine.

Week 1’s top NFL picks

We can tell you that Hartstein likes the Browns (-2.5) covering against the Cowboys. Cleveland is back to one of the NFL’s top defenses, and has built an offense that is projected to be both explosive and balanced when everyone is healthy. The Browns have arguably the best offensive line in the NFL, while the Cowboys will be adding a rookie starting left tackle.

“After playing right tackle in college, Cowboys rookie Tyler Guyton has made the move to left tackle. His first NFL test: trying to block Myles Garrett. It doesn’t help that Guyton struggled with knee soreness late in the preseason. Cleveland led the NFL in total defense and lowest completion percentage allowed last year, and should be even better in year two under offensive coordinator Jim Schwartz,” Hartstein told SportsLine. Hartstein also weighed in on two other NFL contests, including backing a team he says is “poised for greatness.” You can see Hartstein’s Week 1 NFL best bets and parlays only at SportsLine.
