After a strong win against LSU in Week 1, the USC Trojans will host the Utah State Aggies on Saturday night. USC has already posted a strong win in their home opener.
In a key matchup last week, USC went to Las Vegas for a top-25 clash against LSU. The Trojans managed to pull out a thrilling 27-20 win and that could prove to be a good start to their season. Quarterback Miller Moss was one of the biggest stories of that game. He ripped apart LSU’s defense, throwing the ball for 378 yards and a touchdown, while completing 75% of his attempts.
USC’s defense gave up 421 yards to the Tigers, but the Trojan defense refused to crack the red zone and held LSU to just 20 points on the night.
Utah State started off its 2024 campaign quite comfortably. The Aggies faced Robert Morris last week and won easily, 36-14. Utah State’s offense had no trouble moving the football. Quarterbacks Bryson Barnes and Spencer Petras not only combined for 343 passing yards, but the team also put up 303 rushing yards.
The problem for the Aggies was that they turned the ball over three times, all interceptions. They needed to take better care of the football if they wanted any chance of upsetting USC.
