Which big artist has recently announced his first solo tour?
In March 2015, Zayn Malik left the popular boy band One Direction.
After nine years and four solo albums, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter has announced his first solo tour.
From October to December, Zayn will be visiting 11 locations across North America and the UK on the ‘Stairway to the Sky Tour’.
In the middle of a short schedule, he will headline the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Saturday, November 2nd.
“I appreciate your patience, love and support,” Zayn wrote on Instagram. “Can’t wait to enjoy great music together.”
Before the official social media announcement, he interrupted Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” monologue. While Fallon was speaking, Zayn came on stage with mug in hand, waved to the crowd, played his song “Steady” on the host’s MacBook, handed him a note and disappeared without saying anything.
When he left, Fallon turned off the music and took the letter.
“Hey Jimmy,” it read. “It’s great to meet you, mate. I’m going on my first solo tour this autumn. So maybe when you’ve finished apple picking with your friends, you can come see my ‘Stairway to the Sky Tour’ in the US and UK.
If you want to sit back and see Zayn live on his first solo tour this fall, tickets are available starting today.
Fans can purchase tickets for the upcoming ‘Stairway to the Sky’ North American shows on sites like Vivid Seats; official sales will take place Saturday, September 21.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face price depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee which states that your transaction will be secure and delivered before the event.

new music from zayn
On May 17, Zayn released his fourth studio album “Room Under the Stairs”.
Over the course of 15 melodic tracks, Malik delivers quiet, sensitive folk-pop-rock that wouldn’t sound out of place in even your hippest neighborhood coffee shop. Think the Goo Goo Dolls meets Michael Kiwanuka with a dash of Hozier added in and you’ll get an idea of the sound on display here.
Our favorite tracks include the mournful “How It Feels”, the ethereal “Grateful”, the soulful “My Woman”, the melodic “Fuchsia Sea” and the simple “Alienated”, on which Zayn hits impressive high notes with ease.
Be sure to also listen to the dreamlike lead song “Stardust”. This song has a magical quality to it that is impossible to ignore. It’s a must listen.
