Why did Pamela Anderson refuse to star in the new ‘Baywatch’ docuseries?

Pamela Anderson is moving on from her past.

The 57-year-old blonde beauty did not participate in the new four-part Hulu docuseries based on “Baywatch,” the show that brought her worldwide fame in the 1990s.

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” features new interviews with several former cast members about the show and its legacy — all except Anderson.

According to TMZ, Anderson was asked to appear in the documentary but declined.

The insider claimed that he “doesn’t have a bad relationship” with any of his former co-stars and that his role as CJ Parker has “always been well received.”

However, insiders revealed that Anderson is now “in a different chapter of her life,” adding that she’s focused on the bigger opportunities that have come her way.

Anderson is busy with two new movies that are on the way.

She stars in the drama “The Last Showgirl,” which premieres at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 6. Her co-stars include Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka.

Anderson will star in the fifth “The Naked Gun” film alongside Liam Neeson, Paul Walter Hauser and Kevin Durand. The film is scheduled to be released in 2025.

The mother of two previously spoke candidly about her life in the Netflix documentary, “Pamela: A Love Story,” and her memoir, “Love, Pamela,” both of which came out last year.

Though Anderson turned down the “Baywatch” documentary, unaired interviews with the actress are featured prominently in the project.

The second episode of the docuseries, called “Show Me the Money,” is all about Anderson and how she helped make “Baywatch” a success.

The episode description reads, “How one young, blonde beauty helped make ‘Baywatch’ an international hit. Her name: Pamela Anderson.”

Anderson’s leaked 1996 sex tape with Tommy Lee was a big topic in the docuseries.

“Baywatch” co-creator and producer Michael Berk said the actress was almost written out of the show because of the infamous scandal.

Burke recalled, “When Pam’s sex tape came out, the studio said, ‘Look, take her out of a few episodes, we’ve got to think about what we’re going to do with this, it’s a disaster.'”

However, Burke said the sex tape actually caused “Baywatch” ratings to increase, so Anderson kept her job.

Anderson spoke about the scandal in an unpublished interview, saying, “It was stolen property. It was two naked people madly in love. We were naked all the time and filming each other, being silly.”

“But those tapes weren’t meant for anybody else to see,” the “Home Improvement” alumnus said. “I haven’t seen it to this day, it was too sad.”

Anderson also skipped the documentary’s red carpet premiere in Santa Monica on Monday night. Her former co-stars Carmen Electra, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Brandy Ledford, David Chokachi and others reunited for the event.

David Hasselhoff, who played Mitch Buchannon, also did not appear, though he does appear in the docuseries in old interviews given for “Baywatch: The Documentary.”

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” is streaming on Hulu.
